| Kunzite, is a beautiful and rare pink gemstone variety of the mineral spodumene. Spodumene is a common mineral, but only very few select localaties does it occur in transparent gem form. One gem form is the pink kunzite, and another gem form is the green hiddenite.
Kunzite was discovered in Connecticut in the early 20th century by Dr. George Kunz, a gemologist from Tiffany & Co. Kunzite is typically found in large carat sizes and its value lies with the richer pale pink to lilac colors. |
